ALISON JENNER  F.I.S.T.D

 

 

Alison Jenner has been teaching Ballet for the SDSD since 1992. Having trained at London College of Dance and Drama (LCDD), she subsequently joined the Dance Department of the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts (formerly the Arts Educational School). Alison taught a wide range of dance genres as well as holding the post of Assistant to the Head of Dance for a number of years. During this time she chaperoned Arts Ed pupils for the English National Ballet Company, now ENB, both in the UK and abroad. She is also proud to have worked with National Youth Music Theatre at the Edinburgh Festival and have had the opportunity to choreograph commissioned pieces performed at Westminster Abbey and St. Pauls Church, Covent Garden. Alison has also enjoyed teaching Music and Movement and working on productions in a local Preparatory School.

 

Alison is an experienced Cecchetti Senior International Qualifying Ballet Examiner for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), holding Fellowship status in both the Cecchetti Ballet and Modern Theatre Faculties of the ISTD. For many years she was the Organiser of the Cecchetti Society’s International Residential Summer School for Young Dancers, held at Tring Park. She enjoys travelling extensively, guest teaching both fellow teachers and students, and adjudicating for the Society. She has served on various ISTD Committees and has been heavily involved in the Grade & Standard Ballet syllabus revisions and Chaired the sub Committee to develop Senior Certificate 1 and 2.
