Maria Payne
(Principal)

From the age of 10 I have been involved in Musical theatre attending the Jackie Palmer stage school and Stage coach. During this time I performed in a variety of shows including playing lead roll Maria in west side story and  T.V appearances in ‘Bliss’ .

At the age of Fifteen I started at the Susan Diane School of Dance in order to reach the high standard of dance required by the theatre schools. After starting in the classes as a student I then moved on to assist the founder principal and the other teachers in their classes, this is where my love of teaching started.  I went on to gain my associate ballet qualification. Along- side  teacher training at the Susan Diane School of Dance I also attended the Margret Howard College where I trained in Modern and Tap, classes at the London Cecchetti centre, and completing my training at Linda Sweetzer collage . After qualifying as a teacher I stayed at the Susan Diane School of Dance where I spent the past 15 years working in the office and assisting the founder principal with running SDSD. I am continuously updating my qualifications with my most recent is qualifying as an Acrobatic Arts teacher.

I now have the pleasure of being the owner and principal of this amazing school teaching our fantastic students, watching and supporting them as they have their own journey with SDSD.
